remote start system

Post by lurch95hatch »

hey everyone, i have recently been thinking about getting a remote start system for my wifes car. i was wondering if anyone could give me a little better info on the skinny on what systems are good and cost effective. it would be going into a 2001 civic lx 4 door automatic. any info is appreciated to help me make a decision. thank you!

the systems you want to look at are once from brands like
-DEI (viper,avital,clifford etc)
dei is the LARGEST manufacture of car electronics in the world and have the best reputation for longevity and reliability but they tend to run a little more expensive then other brands

from dei the 4103 is the best piece to look at when you compare cost and features

Autopage is the next in line when it comes to really good product they typical offer the same reliability as the DEI products at a cheaper price. I use Autopage on my personal products and have for over 7 years and have had zero issues with any of the stuff ive owned

for autopage the rs-603 is the best bang for buck item they offer

Either product will do remote start and keyless entry for your wifes car, you will need a BYPASS for that vehicle, what the bypass does is allow the car to start without the key since 90% of most cars now a days have some sort of "chipped" key or immobilizer system that needs to be "bypassed" to be able to be remote started. Avg price of a bypass is around $50.00

if you need to get any of this stuff installed just PM me i work at custom sounds and have been doing this stuff for 20 years
