Help with my suspension please

Post by 97honda »

I have a 1997 honda civic lowered 3inches in the front and 2.5' in the back. Riding on coilvers i went to have new tires put on yesterday and they told me my camber and toe is way off in the front. Which i knew they were gonna say because i never put anything on the car to fix the problam when i dropped it. They said the rear of the car was fine due to the camber and toe kit i have on there. They told me to fix this prblam. So in order to fix this they told me to just put adjustable upper ball joints on the car to start with. The aliment tec said putting these on will get us to be able to fix the camber and then with the camber back in place the toe will stat to return to normal cause right now one side is at .29 and the other .34 on the toe. I was just seeing what you guys thought on this issue. He aslo said my tire rods are not where they are supposed to be but these bearings and raising the car up will fix the tir rod problam. He said if i dont raise the car up in the fron the tire rods will hit on the frame of the car. Thanks in advanced

Like Phate and Clatyon said... both of them are correct.

I know my slammed RL likes to go through tires in the front every month and a half to 2 months.

So i plan to get my camber kit soon and a full alignment.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

Thanks for the help now i have another problem i have ordered the ball joints for the car but i currently live in O Fallon Missouri and attending school in Linn Missouri about a hour and a half away. I was wondering if someone would now how to put these in and adjust them pretty close to where they need to be so i can drive the car back up to school on Sunday. I dont wanna put alot of miles on the new tires with the aliment this far off. Or if someone would know anywhere to take the car that is not to expensive that can do it this weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me this weekend i would be willing to pay them. Thanks in advanced

There's numerous threads beating this topic to death. I'm not going to go into too much detail but you don't need a camber kit to make the car drive straight and not excessively wear the tires. Nor will your tie rods hit the car. You'll lay frame before that happens.
