Compensator arm problems on an ej1 civic

Post by ejtuner88 »

Im in the middle of converting my drums to disc on the rear and bought a set of trailing arms off a '95 4 dr ex with everything to do it. well i get everythingelse broke loose without issue and then i go to disconnect the compensator arm(the little arm that connects the front of the trailing arm to the chassis and is used to adjsut toe in the rear) and the bolt strips. i see a hole where it threads into the chassis and theres a nut that upon further inspection was welded to the bracket and then the bolt for the arm threaded into it. Any ideas on how to fix it? i was thinkin about makin the hole bigger so i could grab the nut and hold it in place while i thread the new bolt in but im not sure if it would fatigue that metal too much or not.

it's tough to tell without being able to see it in person. I have been dealing with fixing compensator arm issues for the past week on my sol.
are you saying that you stripped out the nut that the compensator arm bolt threads into?

none anymore... broken bolts suck, but nothing a little cutting and welding couldnt fix.
