Best tune for EM1 B16a2 ?
I dont know much about the ecu on my Si and I was wondering what the best set up or tune is for my civic si. I know theres Hondata s300, but how does the tuning work can i get my ecu chipped ? Or is it just plug and play like the Hondatas for the FG2's ? Any help is greatly appreciated.

First thing... do you have any reason to modify your ECU?
Intake and exhaust won't do anything for you... But that with a set of cams, header, etc. and a few other tweaks might be worth your time. Or in a better instance... Turbo / high compression would be the real reason to tune.
What are your power goals? What are your plans? What is your budget?

I wasn't looking to get a tune right away I was just wondering. I was planning on getting slightly bigger injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and a fuel rail, aem tru time pulleys, P2R throttle body spacer also i'm getting a test pipe and header soon. Its only got an intake, exhaust, and ported and polished intake manifold done to it right now.99BlackHatch;274887 wrote:First thing... do you have any reason to modify your ECU?

Personally, I'd stay away from the test pipe, but that is my personal opinion. And same thing with the aftermarket pulleys. Both are kind of a waste of time and money since they really don't do much, unless you have bigger supporting mods, if that's the case, then look into do those mods around that time.
But like i said, that is personal preference.
Why the increase in fuel supply for no bigger mods? Do those if you decide to go turbo or high compression. Otherwise you're putting money into something that has no reason to be upgrade on a stock-ish setup. Get cams, Stage 1 or something, so you won't need to upgrade the head at all and then look into the fuel some more.
As for tuning... most members on here prefer and recommend LOWE PERFORMANCE in Alton. John is a great and reputable tuner around here.

Turbo.
A decent turbo kit that you can pick up on here or piece together yourself on stock internals can give you, depending on certain parts, but anywhere around 260 - 300+ whp
Several cars on here have gone this route and are reliable daily driver cars. Do some research in the Tech Zone or member's rides and see what you can find sir.

you wont have to rebuild anything unless your wanting to make big numbers. as long as stay under around 300 whp you will be fine with a good tune
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

Lol. Honda engines are finally getting broke in at around 150,000 sir.SleepyEM1;274926 wrote:Wouldn't I have to rebuild my motor at all? i'm currently at 130k miles
My Acura RL is currently 260,xxx miles. No rebuilding is needed on stock engine really. Most stock engines can support 8-10 psi normally.

im running a turbo stock block with no problems
and its my dd my advice get a good turbo setup and a good tune and you should be fine even still if you only got to around 250hp thats still decent power. hondas are so light it doesnt take much to make them half way quick.
turbo lag psh? boost is only a down shift away
