What ECU for a B20?
Okay I'm just curious what ECu is recommended to run with a B20b? I heard an Integra LS ECU but running a 2.0 liter motor on a 1.8 liter ECU just doesnt sound right at all. Wouldnt the motor be running lean and the computer would be messing with the timing? Just a few things that I was wondering.

why doesn't using a non-vtec b series ecu not sound right on a non-vtec engine??HondaChild;174668 wrote:Okay I'm just curious what ECu is recommended to run with a B20b? just use an LS ecu. you'll be all right.

well the ecu are programmed for different engine capacities(cubic inches).
altho they are both pr4 ecu's
both the redline rpm's are different if i remmeber right

okay no vtec engagement isnt the issue, its the fact that the car is bogging its ass off when in the low rpm. And it acts like the timing is off. and since it is a OBD2 ECU isnt it only providing the engine with enough fuel for a small engine than what is in the vehicle.Silver Knight;174733 wrote:why doesn't using a non-vtec b series ecu not sound right on a non-vtec engine??

This is for Kirsti's car right? I thought it ran good...apparently the P75('94-'95 Integra) is the best ECU for the B20, and it's an OBDI ECU, not OBDII...revs the hieghest, best drivability, etc. Might be another issue that causes the slight hesitation at lower RPM/load.

Yes it is for her car. No it does not run good at all really. its really boggy off of a stop and will all most die at times. I still dont understand running a 2 liter motor on a non chipped 1.8 liter ECU. I'm kind of wondering if its running rich at the bottom end of the powerband. But other than that and 5th gear being FUBAR'd it's a decent swap.Mazkid;175057 wrote:This is for Kirsti's car right? Just run a chipped P06/P28 with a B20Bx map. Problem solved.

Hmm...strange...didn't hesitate that bad when we were done with it...and the transmission was fine - I drove it! Just seeing what was with the swap and what was missing, from H-Motors, I was a little disappointed. It was more work than it should have been because some sensors were missing or broken, and etc.HondaChild;175059 wrote:Yes it is for her car. I'm no Honda expert so I don't know what to tell you about the ECU other than what I've been told.

been a while since i messed with b-series parts P72? A GSR ECU would be the best for a crvtec. rob was right a chipped po6/p28 would be the way to see it up. did you ever go get it looked @.Mazkid;175057 wrote:This is for Kirsti's car right?
