I know this is probably a common problem.
I have an obd2 b18c1 from a 00 gsr into my 95 LS shell.
Running p72 obd1 gsr ecu.
Using obd2 gsr engine harness.
My tach will not work, I've heard others with the same problem.
Some people say run a wire from the distributor to my tach wire on driver side.
Others say that this gives inaccurate reading, and makes needles jump.
Anyone know what the problem is or know of a fix? thanks.

How are you using an OBD-II engine harness in an OBD-I car? And what year and motor distributor are you using?

obd2 b18c1 in 95 LS shell tach help
The engine harness works fine. Its just that 1 part of the wiring. I've done some reading and many have this same problem, and many are using ob2 engine harness.
The distributor is obd2
engine, harness, and distributor are from an 00 gsr.
all into my 95 LS shell on the p72 obd1 ecu. the harness inside the vehicle is obd1, like i had said just the engine wires are from the 00 gsr.
If i can find the wire on the distributor for the tach, I may try this method and see how it works.
