having a clutch issue that i cant find an answer for.

Post by stephen1124 »

Okay so when I'm driving I hear alot of noise coming from what I think is the clutch/tranny. for example: I'm in any given gear and i let off the gas I hear a weird whining sound. 2nd: I'm in neutral I'm at a complete stop, I bring the shifter all the way over as if I'm gonna throw it in gear and it makes almost what sounds like grinding or metal on metal rubbing. an Ssssssssssssssss sound. mind you I'm still in neutral. Its not really loud and I'm not feeling it in the stick but its annoying the hell out of me and is freaking me out. I hear this sound where ever I go and want to find out whats going on. Any suggestions? I am also a member of clubcivic but, No one there is giving me any sort of help. I just joined here, hoping you guys and girls, may be able to help.

thanks,
stephen

it's probley not the clutch .. might just be low on fluid OR a bad throwout bearing ... what i would suggest is if your free tonight to swing by bubble tea and have one of the guys who work on cars all the time look at it just to get a second opinion before you start spending money on "what might be wrong parts"

if im there ill be more then happy to look at it , my names chris ill be there around 8 look for a black 240sx or just ask around for me

side note: if your still wanting to do a new clutch .. look at the exedy oem replacement clutch you can pick one up for like 100.00 shipped and it comes with everything you'll need. Clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. And if you need help putting it in post up a need help thread and im sure one of us can come lend a hand
