Just recently bought my eg and im already thinking abut a build. i want to do an awd eg. I saw some guys doing a crv eg but from what I've read it hadnt work out very well. I'm curious if using a ubaru as a donor car would make things easier for me. So first,
Is it possible to make an AWD eg?
What engine or donor car would be the best bet?
How much fabrication am i looking at?
And lord help me, price?
Any information would be appreciated.

i have read about sme guys doing such a swap/build. i dont know what your goals are but a lot of people have had a big problem keeping the trannys together when you put much over 200hp to them

Just straight motor n/a. Not wanting to build the motor. Justthe swap itself would be enough for me.

Exactly... SOME PEOPLE have problems not breaking rear axles and tranmissions when the car makes too much power unless you have a few custom parts created to help against it.
I'm still a neighborhood ASSHOLE!

It is possible to make your '92-'95 Civic AWD. A few people have done all kinds of different drivetrain swaps in these cars and the sedans in other countries were available with Realtime 4WD from the factory. As for a price, you're going to be paying someone or a shop a lot of money to do the work. I would expect a 15-20k budget to make it all work properly. And I really don't see spending that kind of money on a Civic as a smart move. If all you want is an old AWD car, buy a Subaru.

-Yes it is possible to make an AWD EG since Honda already did it. Civic Ferio RTSi. Realtime 4WD developed specifically for the EG chasis using a D series engine.

-IF you want to do a complete engine swap ie Subaru I would go with the 4G63 from a DSM, they are setup very similar to Honda's Realtime and the swap has been done before. Subaru engines run longitudinal so the AWD system is completely different.
-If you use the factory Honda parts from the overseas cars there should not be much, if any, fabrications needed.
- I have seen real deal AWD Ferios sell in the states for less than 8K, so collecting the parts just for a conversion shouldn't cost more than a few grand. Doing a 4WD swap from another car on the other hand will be very costly unless you have mad tyte skillz.

Seems to be common. I have done extensive research and even contacted a few shops who have done the swaps.
Seems that the Wagovan parts are the strongest. There is even a thread on how to get obx lsd in the front and rear diff's. Which I don't think would be needed with the setup. I had seen a wagovan with a z6 on 9 psi run 12.5 in the quarter with zero traction problems.
With anything involved with a honda and over 300 whp , expect to break shit. Common sense here.
Given with the fwd setup people have had time to strengthen where possible.
All joking aside I will be attempting this swap next winter. With a D-series.
