type R built B16a timing issue? or not?
alright i have a 1990 si hatch as my daily driver, just last week i droped my b16 i have been building, its a jdm b16a bored .40 over, block and head have both been decked, acl race bearings, arp rod bolts, stock b16 rods, CTR 11:5:1 pistons, cp rings, 82mm commetic headgasket arp headbolts, titanium retainers and springs, Type R camshafts with oil girdles, hondata intake manifold gasket and a mugen chipped pr3 its the ledgit one 4200 vtec and 8800 redline. I know have about 450 miles on the rebuild and when we were timing it we had a hard time getting it dead on we would have everything lined up but as soon as we put tention on the belt the crank jumped a tooth forward. after that we re-timed it and thought we had it 100% dead on because it ran pretty good its got a bad iac problem but it ran. it feels like it has an okay amount of torque but as soon as i would hit vtec it just falls on its face, now dont get me wrong i have not laid into it yet. if anyone has advise on something please let me know because idk if i need someones help or not im not too great at timming dohc's i had no problem with my sohc rex but this is a whole different page.

Is your oil full?
I would also get a real tune. Even if it's a real mugen chip you are well beyond it's tune with those mods.

yes stock sleeves, i have a hondata p28 s300 never used but im looking to putt on my boosted rex. You dont think that mugen ecu is good enough for now?? someone told me my problem is because my block and my head have both been decked and i dont have stock cams, therefor i need adjustable cam gears to get passed my problems. if theres anyone who has built a similar setep please give me your input on what i need to do i now have 500 miles on the motor and just changed my oil again. I really wanna get this puppy up and running great. it feels way to boggy for the shit i got done to it.
