e85 how many of you guys run it?

Post by Boosted_da »

just out of curiosity I'm wondering who all has ventured to the land of moon shine. Ive worked with this stuff for a little while and i finally converted my teg "boosted ls-vtec" and she loves it smoother idle cooler temps higher oct... etc the real results will show on the dyno. she is only my daily so I'm not going to crazy with her just a 50 trim and see what she holds I'm just wanting to see what kinda torque i can make for a fun spirited daily. add your own thought or if interested ask whats involved ill do what all i can to help you out.

I thought about it. It's tempting but im to worried about how different the mixes are. I might do it farther down the road if I build a different set up and run more compression

Would like to run it as well. But theres not a lot of E85 stations in west county. Fair amount in st.charles though.

hhhmmm..... Might look into E85 after the next round of mods (will need retuned then)

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.
Hope this helps

Soon enough, waiting on funds to get my last piece I need... 1600cc or 2000cc ID injectors to replace my ID1000's. Then go for a retune.

typicaly around here there are only 2 different mixes e85 and e70(winter time) your afr's will be a little richer when going from e85 to e70 but if you have a fpr you can compinsate a fair amount. enough for daily driving in the least.

how much power are you shooting for with some 1600cc injectors on e85 hell thats around what 600-700hp?
and what kinda pump system are you running i know that with twin 255's they will pump enough for around 550hp on e85 and if you ran like a boost a pump you could prolly get around 750. or are you running something more or less like a arimotive a 1000?

oh btw not trying to post whore or anything but i forgot something. i had done research on the different mixes and anything above E50 was very promising the higher ethanol content the higher the Oct but the knock threshold didn't seem to differ to dramatical so if your concerned about picking up spark knock from the different mixes my honest opinion don't. or if it is still a big deal to you just wait till next winter and get a winter tune with e70 then no more worries
