Post by ejtuner88 »

I just converted the rear brakes on my '93 civic to disc and i know i need a new proportioning valve and the guy i bought the kit from gave me one, but im not sure if its the right one. it has 4 holes for lines whereas the original has 6. if anyone can verify if i have what i need or has the one i need let me know. i wanna get her back on the road asap.

the original looks like the second one. the one i got with my kit doesn't look like either one of those. it has 2 fittings on one end, two on the other.

Thats off of a ABS car then. Its not a prop valve either. Youll need one off of a non-abs car.

i knew i was gonna need one of a non-ABS car, i just wasn't sure if the one he gave me was for an ABS car or not. i guess ill just have to buck up and order one from the dealer. unless someone has a valve off a non-ABS SI. i know that would work.

Some Automatic EX's 96-00 had rear disks as well.

aftermarket prop valves arent expensive and are also adjustable if you cant find the right one.
