crankshaft help

Post by blueandy »

Hi, i've spun a bearing on my crankshaft on a 91 b18a1 Question#1 Where in the hell could I get a good deal on getting this mofo turned? #2 Where in the hell can i get the block hot tanked? Not looking for the best and most expensive, but somewhere thats does a relatively good job. Oh yea, who will do a b16 head port and polish around st louis. Located hour south of st louis so i dont know where to go and i dont know if i trust any of the machine shops down here. Any help would be appreciated fellas and ladies.

If your serious about getting something hot-tanked, mikes automotive next to our shop(Broadway Auto Glass) could do it, or I have someone up in town by me that would do it for 10-20 bucks

As stated already in this thread, DO NOT TURN A HONDA CRANK. They are not hardened very deep (only a few thousandths) so, if you turn it, you cut all of the hardened metal off. If you can not just polish the crank, throw it in the trash and find another. I have no input on a good machine shop in your area. Heck, I drive 100 miles each way to get to the machine shop I trust. Don't be afraid to drive a good distance to get good work done by a reputable shop (like the one 96civic cr-v mentioned; they look like they do pretty decent work).
