Overheating Problems

Post by J.M.P »

HI, Im still having overheating problems. I replaced the hose that was leaking the coolant, so there are no leaks anymore, but it still overheats.

Any help here will be appreciated.

Here are the scenarios I have run through.

I started the car, runs fine, the upper radiator hose is really hot, even when slightly cold, the lower radiator hose is cold all the time.

The AC fan kicks on no problem, but the other fan never kicks on.

I read that flushing the whole system will help, the radiator, all hoses etc? good idea i suppose?

I did notice that the upper radiator hose is really bulgy, like its backed up, I will post a pic for you to look at.

Pull it out, throw it in a pot of water on the stove. put a thermometer on it and see at what temp it opens.

And also jump the fan to the battery to see if it comes on then, if not then your fan motor is bad, if it does kick on then replace the fan switch

well today I flushed all the coolant, changed the radiator hoses both upper and lower, and put another new bypass hose, that fit better, also put a new thermostat on, here is what the old one looked like compared to the new one obviously on the left is the new one.

Hoping that this will fix my problem, if not then on to other things.
