Y7 Pistons on B7

Post by Jawsiiv »

Got a B7 block that is smoking bad,(probably piston rings). Are the y7 pistons compatible with the B7 block with no adjustments? I figure the rings on this block I got for free are in better conditions that the one I have. Just don't wanna rebuild the entire block yet (b7), as I am going to do the y7 block turbo in the future.

No. That will make your motor's compression ratio 7.90:1. Which is less then ideal.

It will be less work to rering the B7 then it would be to swap y7 pistons even if the compression didnt drop like a mofo with the y7 pistons(as rob pointed out)

They will fit correctly on the D15b7 block? The head is a Z6. Also will any CR change or remain the same? Thanks for the info
