idleing problem on d series

Post by stlmadpanda »

All right here goes nothing. I have a d15B swapped in my 4dr. 92 with an 0bd1 motor. no prob. I put an LS throttle body on it today and it idles high. when it gets luke warm(lol) it surges at idle. 1000 to 1500 rpm pulsing. annoying. when it gets hott it idles fine. i notice on the d series tb the gasket has a notch cut out on the gasket going to the map sensor it looks like. but the ls gasket didn't have the notch cut out. I will probably cut the hole in the gasket and try that. i was wondering if you guys had any other suggestions. thanks for all the help.

unplug the idle air control valve start the car and adjust the idle screw on the throttle body, its the large flat head screw you should see it if you look directly at the butterfly. adjust it so the engine idles around 600-700rpm turn off the car and plug the iacv back in, start the car...done

Is the throttle cable a little loose? If it's on the tight side, it will sometimes open the throttle just a little.

TIACV OK?

Did you use a new throttle body gasket?

Your getting either air in between the T/B and manifold, the throttle calbe is to tight, and if it pulses possibly TPS :dunno:

had to replace the water pump on my friends 200sx today so i didnt get to much time to look at mine. im probablly going to get an si gasket and modify that or get a gsr gasket and use that. hopefully it will work. the cable isn't to tight but we shall see what tomorrow has in store for us.
