Wet sand the clear coat as far down as you can without actually getting to the carbon fiber. My hood had horrible oxidation but after i wet sanded her down and re cleared it it looked brand new. I dont remember exactly what grit sandpaper I used but it was very fine. Wet sand it for a while, then rinse it off, and repeat. Then once you have gotten down pretty far use prep solvent and then clear her :). Any local body shop should be able to clear it if you dont know how to spray or dont have materials. I could spray it for you but I no longer have a gun or booth :(. (Google restoring clear coat and i think a thread comes up on hondatech.....very good tutorial). Hope that helped

If you do it yourself don't use too fine grit sandpaper or the clear will just flake right back off....the finest I would go is 1500 and that's pushing it lol

I have fixed this problem a few times now. What I have noticed that has worked the best is to take it down to the carbonfiber, you can tell when it hits the carbonfiber the look will change, like if you would go through clear coat on paint. After you hit that you dont want to go any farther. I used 500 grit until I hit the carbonfiber, then cleared. There is no need to really go higher than that the clear will take care of those scratches no problem. You can go a little higher if you would like but I wouldn't go over 800, then clear.

I had my hood redone, the guy used a razor blade to chip off the clear. Here is a link, he is located in Springfield, Mo tho..
