Tools Needed:
Heat gun and 3M scuff pad.

I started with the center piece where the shift boot attaches.
before:

I scuffed the really bad spots with the 3M pad in a circular motion and didnt press too hard. I also used a razor blade to scrape some of the scratched and gouged areas flat.

Half almost done, half scuffed, use the heat gun to go over the piece on high about one inch to an inch and a half away from the surface keep moving dont stay in one spot too long. You will actually see the color change on the surface, you are effectively melting a thin layer of plastic on top. i would recommend going over it in several different directions in a cross hatch pattern so its nice and even. Remember dont get it too hot or things will start to warp melt and look nasty and you will lose the plastics texture.

Finished, not perfect, but a whole lot better.

I continued on with the rest of the pieces, here you can see the front half finished and the rear untouched.

Same spot both pieces finished.

Money shot, this will be going into my 91 hatch, I will be dying my interior black to match.

You can also use this method to repair bends in plastic. When you bend plastic it can discolor, hit it with a little heat and it will go back close to its original color.
Thanks for looking...
