Stlhondas.com annual spring cruise

Post by rickles8099 »

Its about time to start planning for our annual spring cruise. Last year it was to Meremac Caverns and back, this year, I was thinking of farther north...

Date: Saturday May 31, 2008. (non negociatable)
Where: parking lot by the old dam near Alton on the Missouri side
Time: start showing up at 11am, leave for cruise at 1pm sharp (no waiting for anyone)

There is a gas station right across the street from the parking lot. Be sure to fill up on gas, check tires, get drinks, get food, etc before we start the cruise at 1pm.

Here are three options for the cruise. This thread is to inform people of the cruise, for you to vote on which one of the three routes stated here you want to do, and to rsvp. The one of the three cruises with the most votes is what we are going to do. In case of a tie, it will be voted on upon the mods/admin to break the tie. Be sure to vote on which cruise you want and rsvp in the calendar here to let us know if your attending and if you are going to be bringing any friends with you or not. I will periododically come back and update the attendance list.

Option number one:
  • the longest distance of the three
  • 100.4 miles long (estimated by google maps)
  • 2 hours 54 minutes long (estimated by google maps)
  • stop at Barefoot in Hardin, IL and stop at Sonic on Elm St. in St. Charles, MO
Option number two:
  • the medium distance of the three
  • 85.9 miles long (estimated by google maps)
  • 2 hours 51 minutes long (estimated by google maps)
  • only stop is at Sonic on Elm St. in St. Charles, MO
Option number three:
  • the shortest distance of the three
  • 66.3 miles long (estimated by google maps)
  • 2 hours 27 minutes long (estimated by google maps)
  • only stop is at Sonic on Elm St. in St. Charles, MO
all three options start in the parking lot where the old dam used to be right by Alton, and all three have the same stopping point, the same parking lot as the cruise will start in. The main differences in the cruises are the length of them, the time they take, and the number of stops. Of course, if you live in St. Charles, when we go from Sonic to the final destination, back to Alton, you are not required to go. It doesn't make sense, unless you want to, to drive from St. Charles to Alton to turn around and go straight back to St. Charles.

Whos in for sure:

Whos in for a maybe:

first edit: changed date to May 31 because of car show on the 17th.
second edit: added link to calendar rsvp
