*UPDATE*Alright, I think the plan is changing. Thanks to Rob (SilverStreak) we have found a place to stop and eat lunch about 1/2 way along the cruise. BUT, it is important to get a count of exactly how many people are still planning on attending so that we know if they can fit us or not. So, even if you have already posted that you are coming, I need you to go HERE and RSVP... it will only take a second, and will help us plan for sure
Alright, we ran a few of these last year through STLSR, but we have our own board now, so lets try another one.
Where: Babler State Park
When: Sunday, September 9th
(Sunday, September 16th if it rains on the 9th)
*you can get a reminder for this meet from our calender HERE*
Activities:
11:30-12:00: Meet and Greet
12:00-1:00 (maybe a little later): Pics, softball, frisbee, ect.
1:00(maybe a little later)-> Backroad Cruise and Lunch
Following the Cruise: Sonic in the Valley for some ice cream
depending on how big the meet is, you will have the option to run either the cruise route that we did last October for the 'EF' meet(but this time we will be stopping for lunch at a different place) OR the route from last June's meet
feel free to bring drinks, snacks, equipment for games (frisbee, wiffleball, anything you want to play... don't just expect someone else to bring it!), and money for lunch on the cruise.

 the spring cruise (June) was nice, but it was a little short... but if someone remembers the cruise route, or wants to talk to Mike and get it from him, be my guest. Depending on how big this meet is, we might want to consider splitting up and running 2 seperate cruises :dunno: to give people an option.
As far as stopping, i mean we aren't stopping in Defiance for lunch, we will still probably make a stop at the end of the cruise for pics or whatever at that giant rock pile pyramid thing (I don't remember, or really care, what it's called), and then cruise to sonic where, if we run 2 cruises, everyone can meet up again.
I'm open to suggestions, this isn't set in stone yet, but I had to start somewhere or nothing would ever get done on this... if necessary, I can push it back a week or 2(really don't want to go that late) to allow for more prep time

it just so happens that i have a map from that cruise sitting in my little white binderSpork;57322 wrote: if someone remembers the cruise route, or wants to talk to Mike and get it from him, be my guest.
i know its not set in stone and that is why i was just throwing those ideas up there. yes the stop in defiance was a little.... looooooooonnnnnnggggg. i was just throwing up the idea of sonic seeing that the orginal cruise brought us back to it.sport;57322 wrote:Depending on how big this meet is, we might want to consider splitting up and running 2 seperate cruises :dunno: to give people an option.

maybe we might want to think about doing 2 different routes or just break up into two different cruises doing the same route. one group leaves before the other. maybe have a "fast pace" group and then a more "lesiure pace" leave like 15 minutes after.
or if theres some that want to take twisty-turny route, take the original route and the others that want to take a more straight road route take the second and have a meeting place in the end.
i know the original cruise took us to the infamous stolle screeching tire spot and the second cruise took us to the rock mountain. so if we do the second option and do two different cruise routes, we would need to alter them so that they end up in the same spot.

ok... first, read the activity list, sonic has been on the agenda since i posted the thread (i basically copied and pasted my post from STLSR about the meet for last octoberrickles8099;57332 wrote:it just so happens that i have a map from that cruise sitting in my little white binder

2nd... I found out last night that the road e brought everyone to for racing has been 'discovered' and is now somewhat of an official race spot...(big disappointment for me actually) and there is no way that 234234 cars are going to fit on that road or parking lot... and if the county did come, they sure as hell couldnt all get out.
BUT... both ending spots are no more than 5 minutes from sonic, so meeting there is still a viable ending spot for both cruises...
if you can get me a copy of that cruise route I will do what needs to be done to make it end at sonic
