my friend has a s14 and he couldn't even drive down hill in the snow :) also he shredded 350 dollar tires in about five minutes of drifting with only the stock ka...talk about saving money....also hes got rust everywhere and a nice pop in the rear suspension after EVERY hard shift...than there's my friend 00gsr with a 2000gsr running 14.9's with exhuast....no problems besides his door in which he decided he would reverse past a handicap sign with his door still open...and sir you are quite lucky, because it seems a bit rare to find very healthy sr's such as yours...therefore I can see why you appreciate it so much.

..that is just from my experience

You have full coverage? If you wrecked your car today, your only going to get what ever your insurance company tells you it's worth. 11-12k good for you, but it sounds like the person you describe below is the only person who would buy it.

However, anyone that mods a car as an investment, is a moron also. Modding and racing a car, is like riding a rollercoaster, spend all the money you want and enjoy the shit out of it, but know that your never getting it back.

x2, for the most part they are completley worthless during winter. I had to help push my friend out of a FLAT PARKING LOT. Like I said, fun for toys or projects, I really do like them, but fuck having to rely on one every day.

Mr. ZenkiS14,

Trust me I respect your opinion and knowledge concerning 240sxs', but I'm trying to give our friend advice also. I'm sure he needs advice other than integras are better blah, blah blah. So let's keep helping him and keep it on wax.

I understand your position, and i guess RWD isnt for everyone. There are a bunch of people that I fully believe should be driving a FWD car. I have NO problem commuting ANYWHERE during the snow or rain, given i have my correct tires on. So dont tell me they are worthless, for 3 full solid winters, my ONLY car was my SR powered RWD 240. Ask Chris N2HiFi or Josh, i drove that car EVERYWHERE. ALL winter long i had no problems with my Blizzaks on.

I hate the understeer Prone FWD cars in the snow, i prefer oversteer with a RWD car, because to me it is MUCH more controllable being able to modulate the rear tires speed with the throttle.

here's the deal though, if the kid wants a solid commuter car, thats "semi-rare", and gives a nice leather interior and smooth ride, He can keep his Honda. But if he wants a performance car, the RWD car is the obvious choice. There are no FWD sports cars. The fastest cars in the world, both drag, and road course are ALL RWD. There's no arguing with the patform. RWD isnt for everyone i guess.

RWD doesn't scare me, when I can afford a real car it will most likely be RWD, but no FWD sports car, really, I would want you to see the Best of Motoring video Type R legacy (or legend some crap like that).

Tell you the truth I would love a cheap Japanese RWD sports car, but it would not be a 240. And I would like to check your car out it seems pretty bitching.

Over the winter, some of you may have seen me fail at realizing how much money it takes to turbocharge a car including tune, engine management, etc. I sold off my parts and saved up for some wheels instead. 15" Konig Heliums with Azenis (80% tread left) with Skunk2 lugs for $525 shipped. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Now that it's warming up, and the windows are down and sunroof is back, I'm still left itching for a little more power than my GSR is putting out. I've been glued to the Official 240SX thread on H-T and have become fond of the S13 coupes with Silvia fronts. If I could find a SR20 S13, even without the Silvia front, for cheaper than I sell my Integra for, I could have a little left over for mods/bank. I'd also have a fun car with RWD and turbo. With a few mods on top of the SR, I could put down some good numbers for a lot less than the >2K I was going to spend on piecing a turbo kit together for the GSR.

My problem is that I love the car! It's rare being ABP (adriatic blue pearl), sedan, GSR, and a 98 all in one. I made an Official ABP thread on H-T and only had two other ABP sedan Integras post. You cannot beat the reliabilty of these, the gas mileage is unbelievable, especially with prices lately, and I am a Honda fan at heart. I am extremely jealous of UMRacer, who has the internship with Honda of Ohio. Put simply, I'm in love with not only the car, but also Honda in general.

So, STLHondas, help me out! What should I do? Anyone ever own both and have an opinion? I know that here I'll get an obvious bias towards Hondas, which is why I posted a thread over on DriftSTL, too.

Thanks for your help!
keep the integra. if you go rwd turbo nothing less then a s14.

did you really have to quote everything he typed? You sir just failed horribly.

EDIT: SINCE I'M A SO-CALLED WHORE.

I'd say find someone who would let you drive there 240 for a day so you can get a fell for what you're in for. All I've managed to do so far is get a few ride alongs, but it has convinced me enough that when i get back from basic, I'm most likely going to be buying an S14.
