iPod Question

A splitter wouldnt work. If you look at a the male connector for a shuffle, it has 4 silver rings, a normal headphone jack would probably only have 2. Even so, it would have to somehow stop you from trying to back feed 12Vs into your radio. lol

I will add, they do make Shuffle Car chargers with built in FM mods. While FM mods arent the best, it might be your only option.

Ok, after looking at what I was talking about, it wont work for a shuffle. What about this tho:

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BO ... e=&seller="]Amazon.com: Ipod Shuffle Car/ Auto Dock Charger: Electronics[/ame]

Can you use your USB off that and an then just hook the wire from your headphone jack to your car

yeah i thought it through completely about 10 seconds after i posted it lol. and even if it did somehow magically work, i'm the sure sound quality would be crap.

Best thing to do, get a real Ipod, then either A) find out if Peripheral Electronics makes a OEM Ipod intergration piece for your car, or B) get an after market radio that has an Ipod cable.

If you are going to be using it for working out and in the car then just get an aux in set-up for your car. A fully charged new shuffle should have 10 hours of playtime. If you are driving and working out for more than 10 hours a day then you need a new hobby. If not, just remember to take the shuffle in every other day or so and charge it.

Cool, we have a solution

And I don't have an audio jack on my car stereo as I first thought ... the peripheral electronics site is awesome, but nothing is supported for my '02 GTI unfortunately ... good try

Going to get the cassette adapter and this guy [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BO1L6M/"]Amazon.com: Ipod Shuffle Car/ Auto Dock Charger: Electronics[/ame] ... that'll allow me to charge in my car when needed

I know "a real iPod" makes more sense, but I just don't want something big hanging on to me while working out

Thanks .. a productive and helpful thread on a web forum ... who knew such things were possible!

Have you by chance looked at the new Nano's? They are about 1/4 inch thick, 1 inch wide, and 2 inchs tall. Pretty damn small if you ask me.
