that is only on OBD - 0 and 1 systems. You cannot use anytype of jumper wires for OBD - 2 systemsSilver Knight;92508 wrote:you should be able to pull the code yourself with a jumper wire and read it like you would with any CEL or ABS codes.

first off, what type of vehicle?
second, the reason it costs so much money is a. the HDS is a couple thousand dollars, thats the tool you have to have read the code, b. technicians cost money.
i cant take the hds from work, but if you have the code read at a dealer, and it turns out to be some sort of issue like a seat belt pre-tensioner, its all covered for free, but if it is something different not covered by honda, and you want the dealer to fix the issue, they will probably cut you slack on diag time. a lot of the times they will charge nothing for diag if you have them fix it.

Werd, when I went up to have the V checked, and it turned out I was just missing my fuel cap. They didn't charge me anything for the diagnostic and I just bought the cap from them.bildo16;92523 wrote:first off, what type of vehicle?

Yes you can jump it to reset it. I have already done it. However, it came back on later that day letting me know that there is an actual problem and not just a fluke. This is for a 2002 Civic Hx.

I know. When it first came on, I did some searching and found the reset trick to see if it was a fluke error. Since the light came on again and stayed on, I know there is some sort of issue. However, it is my own fault for just now doing something about it since my plates are due this month and I accept that. I'm a procrastinator. Anyways, I have an appointment with Ed Napelton Honda tomorrow at 3 since their price was lower than St. Louis Honda by half. This is something I don't want to mess with since it is the SRS. I don't want to risk messing something up or accidentally setting off the airbags.bildo16;92569 wrote:see my first post, that is probably your only option.
