he's just dreaming for the future about the new supra, lol, which isnt actually coming out, but will be a lexus as i was informed by i believe 00civicex in a previous thread.
personally, i would take the accord because it is sex on wheels and the new civic can suck my new accord's dick
(i like the new si's though, lol)

honestly, for the price i wouldnt buy either one.
with the civic your monthly payment will be around $500ish a month,
with the accord it will be around $600ish.
anytime you buy a brand new car, its instantly worth 2/3s what you paid for it,
the second you pull off the lot.
buy sporks hatch, and a house
thats what i would do if i was in the financial position to be buying a brand new honda

Normally I would want the Civic, but realistically the Accord would be better.

My mom's acctually looking at getting a new civic or accord sedan so this past week we went and test drove them both (although we only drove the 4-cylinder accord). The both drive amazing, and it looks like she'll be going with the accord. That's mostly because of the larger/less "modern" interior of the accord, and she's used to larger vehicles. But I'd highly recommend either one of them, although I prefer the civic.

Most of you are just looking at HP, and not even weight to HP ratio, which is what really counts
A Civic, even the base model, will out handle any of the Accords
The Civic Si has even more handling capes, as well as a limited slip diff which gives you much stonger accel out of the corners
That Si still calls to me ... great balance, handling, and hi rev mini F1 engine ... I truly think if I totalled out my car, that'd be what I replace it with
If you can swing it, buy the Si

FROM ROAD & TRACK
"While it would be easy to say the biggest improvement is the Si's engine, there's more to the story than just that. Good as it is, the secret to the Si's success is how well its engine and chassis work together. The chassis' poise, in particular, stands above the others, seemingly unruffled by anything thrown its way. Unlike the Mini, which is at its best on track, or the GTI, which excels in town but requires more attention at track speeds, the Si's chassis dynamics remain consistent under all driving conditions. Whether it's carving up a canyon or blasting over a fast off-camber racetrack turn, the Honda handles each with equal aplomb.
This all-around versatility (and its lack of torque — just 139 lb.-ft.) hurts the Si slightly at the track, where it's neither as tossable as the Mini nor as powerful as the GTI. But it by no means embarrasses itself, lapping just 0.3 sec. off the much torquier GTI (1:30.6) and 0.7 sec. behind the more narrowly focused Mini (1:30.2). Its limited-slip differential remains the class of the field, allowing the Civic to put its power to the ground more effectively than the other two. If it was a little more willing to rotate on demand, there's a good chance it would have picked up a few tenths and possibly lapped faster than the GTI."
On a 1 minute 30ish second lap, how do we think the Accord would compare to the Si, which is less than one second behind the Mini Cooper S (turbo'd) and one of the best handling cars around??

The reason YOU would buy a Civic isn't necessarily the reason anyone else would. I don't think anyone here is going to buy a brand new car soley to tear up twisty tracks with. Don't get me wrong, I would drive a new Si, I like them a lot. But the Accord is just a nicer car. You can't compare the sound of a 4 cylinder to the growl of a V6 at WOT.GTI-Guy;115431 wrote:Where'd all you guys go? I was in the mood for a good, heated discussion!
You obviously are a mostly handling type of guy. If I were a drag type of guy, I could use your same argument the other way. Take a stock Civic Si and a stock Accord V6 6SPD and line them up. Accord will win hands down. So really, which ever one is better all depends what you want to do with the car.
For me, it would be the Accord without a doubt. The luxury-sport scene is all me. Heated leather, powerful V6, better ride, better looking IMO, faster, more luxurious but still sporty..its just more of a "serious" car I guess. Its hard to explain it.
