Post by Spork »

i am thinking that extra $7K is a big difference in why people choose an Si instead of the Accord.... maybe it's just me, but $7k+interest of extra car payments isn't worth the 70 extra ponies... especially when I know I can pick up that 70hp for less than $7,000 if I wanted to do so

just me though.

The Civic is probably $10,000 cheaper.
Silver Knight;114999 wrote:seeing as they are both obd2 the ecu's in them aren't very mod friendly in both which is why people who have them usually upgrade their ecu's using hondata/k-pro
Currently there is no Hondata available for the newer Civic Si, only a reflash of the ECU for $595.
btlfedgolf;115008 wrote:base price with no options $995
Yep, but I have seen them go for $750 on certain forums.
therythym87;115009 wrote:lol yeah ill check it out...right now costly for me is round 600
If $600.00 is costly to you then I don't think you should be considering a new Civic Si or an Accord V6.

thats what i kinda figured since the pricing i gave earlier for for the rsx's. that the only one they had on their site and i knew it would be around there because all their prices for k series should be about the same whenever they come out with it. ;)

what he said^^^
If I was financialy stable enough I would be buying the black one that they had at the auto show with the lip kit and bronze 19's. The new accord 2 door coupes with the 6 speed are quick. The average 0-60 I have been seeing with motortrends car and driver etc, is 5.6. Few bolt ons when there avaible and other mods could get you 5 flat or better. Thats the way I see it. Which is corvette speeds, older ones of course.

V6 Accord coupe 6 speed will definitely get you some ass (especially the black ones...grrrr), but I really love my si. I bought the 4 door, and with the lip kit and fogs, I think we paid maybe 22k. I can't remember what the exact 1/4 mile time was, but I'm pretty sure it ran a high 14 stock. Unfortunately, since the compression is so high, I think the only thing i can do is reflash the ECU, but I'm hoping by the time I can afford to mod it, other things will be available. And if $600 is all you can afford now to mod it, consider if you get a new Accord, that's what you may be paying monthly.
Ribs. I had ribs for lunch, that's why I'm doing this.
