A wax write up for DARK colored cars...

Post by Yo Nadz »

So if you own a black or dark colored car, you know it's a BISH to keep looking good. Black shows EVERY imperfection. I finally got sick of washing my ride and hating how horrible it looked, so I decided to take a day and rub her the right way.

This is the stuff I used (micro fiber towells and applicator pads not pictured):

Image

-Started of by washing the car with Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash
-Then used a Zaino Clay Bar on the whole car
-Then applied one coat of Meguiar's Scratch X to the whole car to eliminate some swirls and light scratches
-Then polished the whole car with Meguiar's Deep Crystal Polish
-Then glazed the whole car with Meguiar's #7 Professional Show Car Glaze
-Then finished up with Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0 Liquid Wax

And this is what the car looked like at 11am when I started:

And at 6pm, after over 6 hours of work and 2 sore ass arms, here's the finished product (lighting could be better):

100% improvement. The paint actually looks "blacker". Weird, I know. And the paint is OH SO SILKY SMOOOOOOTH! This was much overdue and I am definitely going to keep up on in more now. Well worth the effort and day spent to do it. And I HIGHLY recommend this same array of products for anyone looking to bring back that like new luster to their paint.

Not bad man. Luckily for you, the car wasn't too bad to start with. Clay every 2-3 months and use a light polish, wax every month and your car should look that clean after every wash.

Awesome job. Black unfortunately is the worst color that shows imperfections, but it's so sexy!
Ribs. I had ribs for lunch, that's why I'm doing this.
