I've not whored in quite some time, hell I'm barely on the forum now that I work. But you sir, have seemed to acquire a high and might attitude towards many things these days. Normally I don't even single out people when they do stupid things like you just did, I usually let Nate or Steve do that. Furthermore for the statement that you posted there was no need for you to quote his post, as it didn't directly reference anything he said that wouldn't be immediately recognizable to anyone who read the tread. But with all that being said I'm done "whoring up" this tread, if you have further issue with me, take it up with me personally.

overall yeah the S13 is a beautiful car and its fun as hell drifting but when it comes to having an everyday car ... during a stl winter that rear wheel drive will become a bitch to deal with... ai myself and most other people like the car because of its looks... and like many of the others have said on this site it is gonna be extremly hard to find a car like a s13 under your budget let alone have money left over to spend ..... but if you do find a car within you budget take .... THAT IS IF YOU WANNA GIVE UP THE HONDUH LIFE
NO MNKY BIZ!!!

Tell you the truth I would love a cheap Japanese RWD sports car, but it would not be a 240. And I would like to check your car out it seems pretty bitching.
Im not saying that there are no cool FWD cars, i'd love to have a CTR or a ITR, or something like that. I loved my Turbo Eclipse while i had it also, but none of those are sports cars. They are just merely a sporty version of a regular car. A 240 is not a sports car either, its just a sport coupe. But ALL of the sports cars in the world (ie: ferrari, vette, lotus, maserati, lambo, atom, porsche etc...) are all RWD, a couple are AWD, but based off a RWD layout.

And just out of curiosity, what other Cheap Japanese RWD Sport Coupe do you speak of, that we have available to us in the US? lol

It goes against all that I said about 240sx because this car is worse.

FC RX-7s, but this would be a dedicated shit rocket not a DD. I would throw a striaght pipe on it, and a bunch of suspension shit, and try to make the wheels fall off.

All I need is to make more money and get a place with a garage.

Wow this is awesome! Great discussion so far. I'm just sitting back and soaking it all in for now. I just went through starting at the top of the 2nd page and wrote down the things I wanted to address too.

The general consensus seems to be that I should get a S14 instead of the S13. Don't get a SR swapped car immediately, unless it'd be done right (only becuse it'd save me a boatload of money not having to buy the engine and do the install work). Hold out for a clean car with lower mileage and stock.

From what I've read, they can be reliable (as ZenkiS14 has said) or if it was sloppy build, obviously, it won't be as reliable. I think this is the same as most Hondas. If you do a crappy job on an engine build/install it won't hold together as well as a solid build. I've experienced this with Integras. My first Integra was a complete pile, but I was too oblivious to notice when looking to buy it. It had a horrid LS/vtec job done, bad transmission, hacked up wires under the dash, shortcuts taken everywhere. It was just too much to handle. I sold that and now have a nice Integra that treats me right beause I treat it right.

Parts seem a little more expensive for a 240 than a Honda. I agree with the fact that coilovers will be 240sx sells for considerably less than that. Enough for money left over for additional parts.

After all of that, I'll let everyone continue their discussions and I'll sit back again. I just wanted to put in my two cents because after all, I created the thread. Thanks to everyone who has posted so far! Everyone has been a great help.

Yea the FC3S is the only other remotely affordable RWD sport coupe. But if you were complaining about the S13 being a shit bucket with reliability issues....LOL

..that is just from my experience
yep this is definitely true lol
bildo16;106788 wrote:it doesnt really matter what you post on this subject. rwd cars are not good in the snow. especially rwd coupes that dont have much weight over the axles. even in rain they can become unpredictable. my cousin had a FC that spun out making a turn from mexico road turning on to bryan road, decent tread on the tires, and we werent going any faster than normal. its fact.
ya it takes a sec to getting used to the difference but its all good either way u look at it

I say if the gsr has proven to be reliable just stick with that for a daily until you can afford a project. You'd be kicking yourself if you got rid of your car and ended up with a lemon. I made that mistake going from a perfectly fine n/a talon to a tsi...months of frustration leading to me owning a honda. lol

I myself have quite a bit of experience driving s14's and I love those cars. My best friends mom has one, 5 speed 100% stock with about 150k miles on it and it runs beautifully. It out handles my honda by far and is much more fun to drive. Not as quick straight line but it more than makes up for it when you hit back roads and large empty parking lots. Ultimately I say keep your gsr and appreciate it for a nice, reliable daily driver then a little bit down the road try to find a stock s14 and mod the crap out of it.

Basically Im saying ditto on the pros for a 240 that Zenki said just without the experience of owning one, but being good friends with a family that has daily driven one for years and has let me drive it numerous times. Really fun cars!
