Importing cars

Post by SweetEBPSi »

Has anyone ever heard of this online company for exporting cars to the US? The prices are pretty cheap. Even for shipping it to here.

http://www.japan-partner.com

For instance: This is the generation of an Sti that I have always wanted. Look at the price. It doesn't show what the price would be to have it shipped her, but when I looked at the steps on how to purchase (for shits and grins), the shipping price was about $600 more than that price.

Yes I check that site from time to time and would love to import a car from them but dont have all the funds right now. Also I still need to research how to get a car legal after getting it here.

There was a Silivia on there about 6 months ago for like a total of 22K shipped. Wanted to get it so bad.

I looked into it a while back. I think shipping was in the $2,400 neighborhood but I can't be sure.

Well, the cool thing about that site, at least that I noticed, is that they make shipping so easy. There are 3 ways to get the car. I almost want to register under a fake name just to see what the pricing would be to the US. Your right about the shipping. It was a couple thousand more. Still, thats not bad. I found a link that gives an estimate on shipping prices.

Not to mention the safety regulations are different between the two countries. I learned that working on Allex's JDM conversion.

I'm sometime leary about giving out my address before I know anything about a company.

I think most of the JDM cars in mo werent direct imports. They bought them from someone that had already imported them, but it cant hurt to ask.
