Need some knowledge

im looking at a car, but wont have the money till friday or the following friday. the guy is trying to rush and sell it cuz he claims his friend gave it to him to sell cuz his friend owes moneys to the irs. he wants me to put $300 down on the car to make sure we get it. but considering what happened last time we put money down on a car, we are a little weary. anyone know a way i can make sure he doesnt screw me over and sell the car or somethin before i end up buying it? that info would be greatly appreciated if you have it. thanks

we put money down on a talon tsi that needed a swap, and before we got the title, found out it was a n/a motor and wouldnt run with the turbo, took it into a shop, and the douche wouldnt give us the title or our $1000 back. supossedly he's on this site but idk what his name is. it was partly our fault for puttin that money into a car that needed work and not gettin the title right away either tho

Go to goin postal right in town. They have like contracts printed out. Or you can just handwrite something, and have him sign it. Or, you can tell him that youll fucking kill him if he doesnt pay up.

get a bill of sale they are available on the net just search "bill of sale" im sure you could change the wording to include putting money down in lieu of receiving the car and title later... if the guy backs out threaten to call the cops and remind him of the contract he signed... if he doesnt want to sign it tell him to sell the car someone else and move on cause obviously the guy is shady...remember to get signatures dates record everything...

and oh yeah, the only person that can sell the car, legally is the owner (obviously), in which case i wouldnt give his "friend" jack i would give the money to the person named on the title, hes the only one that sign the title to you anyway...

i was lookin up the bill of sale and from what i read, i would need to get it notorized if i was puttin money down. so i might do that. i was thinkin about havin him sign somethin like phate said and then just taking a picture of him receiving the money from us, that way if that did end up happening, he couldnt say he didnt get the money. you knows?
