Thats why people push neuter and spaying your dog so much. There are soooo many animals with out homes and thats why we got Mugen and Sata fixed. I wasnt aware of all the homes that these dogs didnt have until I read up on the forums, and its insane so I got them fixed as soon as possible.
Exactly what someone said already punish the deed not the breed. Some people are too stupid and cant seem to remove their heads from their own ass sometimes I swear.
Sorry this subject just makes me angry because unless you have never owned a "pit" as most like to call them, then you really have no idea what to expect.

Ive never owned a "pit" but my dad has a pit bull, lab mix. Thats the closest experience I have to one. He has the body of a pit bull with the head of a lab and is one of the nicest dogs Ive ever been around. Stupid strong, the strength of those things is incredible.99preludesh;93392 wrote:Sorry this subject just makes me angry because unless you have never owned a "pit" as most like to call them, then you really have no idea what to expect.

Thats the crazy thing, most of them dont even know their own strength. And thats why some are considered "attacks" because they just wanna play and it doesnt turn out so well.00siandrew;93398 wrote:Ive never owned a "pit" but my dad has a pit bull, lab mix. To start off I will say that I share Steph's feelings about this subject. But am also very aware of the potential dangers of owning this breed.
Funny you should mention cocker spaniels. Because labradors and cocker spaniels are actually pretty high on the list of likeliness to bite. I do admit that pit bulls and rottweilers kill more people every year than the others do. And we do know why. But when one particular breed of dog makes up between 20-40% of the estimated 55+ million dogs in this country, you're going to have a lot more pit bull statistics, period. Wow, thats 16.5 million pit bulls and 38.5 million every other breed/mix/whatever(55mil at 30%). You should see the chow statistics. If they had the population problems that pits do we'd all be in trouble. We better get a head start on those bastards before they wipe us out. Better yet lets kill/ban every dog that has the ability to kill. Ah crap, dogs are now extinct. Thanks deetz. And for the bloodline comment. dogs=wolves wolves=killers dogs=killers
On another note. I had a pit bull that we got from my brother in law's dad. He was a very nervous puppy. Would barely come near any of the family. We took him to a behavioral specialist and they said it would be an uphill battle that he wouldn't show some sign of aggression towards people. We tried everything they told us but after snapping at my sister and giving my dad a nice little scar on his forehead I put him down. This was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and I cried like a freakin' baby. But it had to be done or I'd have been a hypocrite and an irresponsible pit owner. Poor little Chopper, rest in peace little buddy.

First off, dogs do not just turn. When an ignorant person sees the scenario they say it turned because they don't understand what happened. The dog may not have been taught that the baby was a higher member of the pack than it was. So to go along with all the nevers you have up there...how about NEVER TRAINED.deetz;93309 wrote:plain and simple here... my town has banned pits from it.. we had an attack a couple years ago where a pit used a baby as a toy.. owners couldnt figure out why the dog would suddenly snap and start throwing the baby around like a rag doll.. dog was raised with kids.. never abused,, never caged up or chained.. it just turned.. these dogs are killers.. they were bred to kill.. theres no changing their bloodlines.. now im sure theres a few that arent dangerous,, and i know everyone will come to their defense and say welp any dog can turn.. but what i dont understand is if any dog can turn on its owners.. how come its always a pit bull?? how come its not a cocker spaniel, or a weiner dog.

I'm just sayin.
Unfortunately steph, when they ban pit bulls they also ban all the other pit bull type dogs. And sometimes go so far as to ban any dog that may have any pit bull type characteristics. Which is way too broad and way too fucked up. And I can also see the confusion that the officer would have as Mugen doesn't really look like an AmStaff.99preludesh;93379 wrote:because nobody ever reports shit like that. There are hundreds of dog attacks every day, but seems like the only ones reported are "pits" because they have a history of violence because worthless fucks cant find a different way to make money.
FUNNY STORY
When we went down to Chesterfield Valley Sonic last summer, a police officer came up to me and told me I had to have Mugen on a leash no longer that 3 feet, and she had to have a bright orange mussle on because she was a "pit". I threw her in my car and I laughed because funny did she know Mugen isnt a "pit" shes an American Staffordshire Terror.
A "pit" is not a certain kind of breed, its a type of dog. People are so stupid when it comes to "pits" honestly. If they wanna ban PITS I say go for it because I garentee you 96% of the police force wouldnt know a American pitbull terrior from an Amstaff any day LAWL
