need alarm installed

Post by IshbOO »

I need my alarm installed. Showoff said it would be 150$ plus parts? rofl what parts.... and thats insane. but I should have everything here, I need someone who could install this or would like to help me install this. I just need it basically wired up and clean. programming it shouldn't be a problem. If anyone is down, hit me up. I'd throw in a 20 case bottles for us to enjoy :) and maybe some cash.

oh yeah and this would be in a 2000 gsr.

it says my warranty is void if someone installs it not certified and not ina shop, but who gives a fk! it was 200 cash.

remote start, 2 way, window module, and 3 sensors.

Actually that's the going rate for that type of alarm...even at my shop....between $120-150 depending on if it needs parts like a bypass or something. You have 2 people on here I know that may do it on the side....

yea i charge 100.00-150.00 to alarm/ remote starts on the side, this is typically 3-4 hrs of labor involved to do a GOOD and clean job with all soldered and heat shrunk connections.

and then window mods would be another 50.00, because you have to run wires into the driver side door which is a pain in the ass and another hour atleast in labor.

parts typically involve wire, solder, heat shrink,t-taps,relays etc anything involved in the actuall install which your alarm does NOT come with.

showoff typically uses t-taps and thats why they are cheaper, cheaper parts ,shitty non reliable connections.

Custom sounds where i work wont touch anything we don't sell for under 200.00, but you get everything soldered, heat shrink, hood and trunk pins installed and a lifetime warranty on the labor.

Also your assumption that installing car electronics is easy is simply astounding, put it this way if its was so easy that some idiot would do it for a case of beer (which beer and electronics dont mix and this person should not be touching your car) then why not do it yourself?

peace chris

well, I'd have to ask the person paying for it. maybe he would give up 100 for it...

I'd listen to this old man, lawl. I've seen him do super clean work. he's got a decade+ car audio/electronics experience (installing, building, competing, judging, etc) sometimes he makes it look like anyone could do it, but they cant... so why risk it?

+1. he does awesome work. so you could go somewhere cheaper and risk it falling apart or have someone do it really well for a decent price.

agreed. N2HIFI does amazing work. I had him install numerous electronics for me, and the work was top notch.

hah....do all that yourself (clean), and let us know if its worth $150 and parts. You'd probably spend $150 in tools if you don't already have them.

and they don't make a gsr in the states with an automatic....so I'm just going to assume its a manual. Does your remote start work with a manual or not? There is a 50/50 chance you'll need extra parts just to bypass that (I'm not just talking a clutch bypass). And if you just want it "hooked up" to bypass the clutch......you'll start the car through something....one of these days.

it has a bypass. its made for a manual. I guess I'll PM him about this. My father is the one who bought this for me, and he said he'd pay for installation. I just gotta talk it over with him.
