My CRX. What would you do?

Post by RyanA »

I'm really torn between keeping this thing and selling it. Only reason I'd consider selling is because I am getting another house and I close on Friday on it....

If I put it back together, I know I'll want to keep it. Here are my options:

Option 1: Put pistons and rods back in along with head and drive it.
Option 2: Pull block/crank and put in B16A long block I have laying around
Option 3: Put GSR long block in it.
Option 4: LSVTEC
Option 5: Built B18C5 with Skunk2 Pro1's, 12:1 compression
Option 6: Turbo B16 again but stock bottom and head this time.
Option 7: Turbo GSR
Option 8: Turbo LSVTEC
Option 9: Turbo 2 liter Dart with T3/T70

Obviously, the turbo setups would not be the most reliable but they'd be fun. I'm almost thinking of just going a fairly stock GSR in it along with OBD1 and maybe make it a poor man's type R. Otherwise, I could always put my built Type R in it but I think I'd rather have it in my 4 door....

What to you people think? Please don't say "built Dart" just because it's the nicest setup on the list. I almost think I may get away from turboing the turd but I'm not completely set yet.

9 options and not one of them has love for the D-Series :(

I say GSR swap. Sounds like the most power, reliability, and would be a fairly easy swap.

+1 im not sure what is done to your crx but I would do the GSR swap and put on a nice set of coilovers and make it a corner monster.

instead of b18c5 high comp, save some of that money and build a b18c1, high comp, and itbs with some nasty cams.

What do you really want the vehicle for? I mean if its just a weekend monster and its not a dd I would do a turbo on it. But if you want more of a dd then do the GSR or LSVTEC.

I'm really liking option 5, but would go with option 3.

I would say option 8 or 9, leaning more towards 9

I think you and Andyjt would be the only ones in the area looking to do that. That be awesome!
