Finding an actual cat...

Post by Lotek »

Fooled ya! not a kitty, a cat converter.

i need a new one, mine is obstructed and killing my car, but id like to still pass emissions thus i do not want a stupid fucking testpipe(ive spent a while going thru nothing but test pipes, thousands of them)

Any local/online shops you guys know of with a good(high flow?) cat, that actualy has the nox catalyst in it? or better yet if there is a way to pass the test and still kill mother earth at the same time?

also, can anyone brand me a good quiet-ish(i.e. still able to sneak up on someone/pull up to a house and not wake the neighbors) muffler producer?. its not an issue if its loud past like 3800, but anything under 4k id prefer to still be somewhat quiet. not a tinny sound either.

thanks.

im tempted to buy an OBX crapola kit(high flow cat, with an actual catalyst, pipes all the way back, and a can). how bad would it be to get obx for this? i know they suck at most everything and its just cheap china crap, but do you guys think it would be okay for just exaust? ill then prolly just buy a new muffler for it cause it comes with like a 4" cannon.

I'm actually looking into cats as we speak, I just bought a Toda header and I will be buying a T1R exhaust (2.5" all the way back) so I'm looking into car sound cats.

Thermal and Greddy are about as quiet, yet deep, and good quality as it gets, IMO. Thermal is relatively cheap...Greddy is a bit more $$$, but well worth it IMO.
