There ya go, you have a obd-0 block and a obd-1 or a obd-2 head. Nothing bad but I just always heard weak storys about the SIR1 and SIRII heads cause supposebly the ports are a bit smaller then the SIR head.

Also I can't confirm what I've heard but maybe something to gather a convo on ya know.

B16a = OBD-0, B16a1 = OBD-1, B16a2 = OBD-2, then it goes into the ITR and CTR motors.

Meh read that forum on honda tech, the head casting number changes through the obd's. My head just says PR3 on it which is for 88 to 91 and PR3-1 is 92 lxi and up to 95 supposebly, and so on and so on.

I'm not 100% sure on this, I'm just going off the research I've been doing. I can deffinatly say if he had a mild tune like I have he would run alot better but you can't do much tuning for just bolt on's.

Wish you coulda came to dyno day so we coulda seen how much power you put out, I put out decent #'s for really no mod's at all. Actually alot of people did.

wrong.

b16a1 is a european release 88-92 civic vti, and also the japanese 90-91 siR
b16a was in numerous civic and integra releases usually refered to as a jdm block or the p30
yo also forgot the b16a3 which was in the del sol.

i dont make no power, lol. thats whta the b20 is for. as far as the castings, this was info that i got from a honda tech of over 20 years. even the 92-93
B17 that was int he gs-r teg was still a b16 head.

yes the head casting numbers changed, but th actuall cast did not.
