The wheels i got with my "new" car some off-brand chrome coated crap, but have a decent 5 spoke pattern. Im thinking of priming them a few coats then going with a semi gloss gunmetal color.
Is this a good way to go to make ok wheels look pretty decent?

have you ever used aircraft paint remover? it doesnt work as easy as you think.. especially on wheels. dont strip them because you wont like the texture thats underneath that coating.. just wet sand them, prime and paint them. then dump a shitload of clear on themsoundqjr;60359 wrote:I would strip them wit aircraft stripper and then prime them and paint them.

Well, i finished the wheels today, but somewhat ran out of daylight, so the last one was somewhat rushed. I tried the aircraft stuff, but it wasnt doing anything other than cleaning the chrome. I decided to just use some sandpaper to ruff up the surface, 3 coats of primer and then 3 coats of gunmetal/slight bronze wheel spray paint.
They look pretty decent considering.
