Suspension questions...
I want to lower my car real bad, have for some time now, but now Im getting serious about it. This sounds dumb, but I was doing some searching around on ebay and have found a few options. Now I realize you get what you pay for, but if I am to go with the lowering springs that cost like $50 as opposed to the springs that cost $200+ am I going to be putting my life on the line while driving because the $50 springs are that bad? Im just trying to figure out if youre simply paying for the name or the springs are really that much better. All Im looking for is something to give me like a 2.5 drop, not break my back when I drive, and not break while Im traveling down the highway. Im pretty ignorant when it comes to suspension so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

He he he. I bought the ebay specials. First time on the way to work on 70 I hit a bump and my back cracked twice. It actually knocked the wind out of me. Spend the money on H&R sports. Its around a 2.5 drop and they ride great. The prob with the ebay shit is that they aren't progressive rate springs, the more you lower your car, the higher the spring rate.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H-R-SPORT-LOWERING-SPRINGS-92-00-HONDA-CIVIC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33586QQihZ016QQitemZ260125356278QQrdZ1
Those are priced awesome, I paid 220 for mine 3 years ago. H&R is the OEM supplier of BMW btw.

I have egay special coilovers on mine and its not to bad. I mean on some roads its bump but any car will be. Im looking to upgrade soon though but we shall see what happens. I would go with some name brand stuff like Eibach or Neuspeed bc I have those before and there both good enough for dd.

I had my ond sedan lowered on Ebay springs and didn't have a problem. They're not something I'd recommend but for $12.00 plus shipping, they're not a bad deal if your just wanting to lower the car. They do give a rough ride, but I don't notice it, passengers do.

I got H&R Sports on my ride now, its a 1.7F and 1.5R drop...only problem w/ h&R the spring rates sux ass and they have a tendency to "sag"... I'm actually going to red ue my suspension in a couple of months(sits to low) cant get yup my driveway.... I'm either going w/ Eibach Ground Controls(adjustable springs) but I'm havein troubleing finding the spring rates on them... also thikiing about Eibach Prokit... But when you do your suspension dont use stock shocks w/ a 2.5drop, the OEM shocks cant handel that drop. ... But GL w/ suspension

Thanks for the input. What do all of you recomend drop wise while using stock shocks? Whats the biggest drop I can do while keeping the oem shocks?xslickwhitetegx;48057 wrote:I got H&R Sports on my ride now, its a 1.7F and 1.5R drop...only problem w/ h&R the spring rates sux ass and they have a tendency to "sag"...
