Question about nitrous inside...help please.

So my friend with a ws6 raced a gt last night and the gt's motor blew in the process. The ws6 has ls2 intake and exhaust, the gt supposedly had cam, heads, and a 150 shot and a few other misc. things. The kid in the gt said he was not going to spray the first race, but we're thinking he did. They take off from about a 20 punch, go through 1st, 2nd, and a little bit of 3rd side by side the whole way then the mustang pows real loud and shoots a blueish flame out the exhaust then pulls off the road broke. The gt was also running on methanol. So my question is what would make that blue flame? nitrous? or methanol? I was following and was pretty sure the gt was spraying (that's how i saw the blue) but the kid swares he was not spraying. I just think he's afraid to admit that all that he has done is not enough to beat a basically stock ls1. The ls1 did run a 12.9 on street tires though, which I thought was unusually fast. Anyway, just curious what you guys that know a thing or two about n2o had to say. Sorry for the long story, but I figured it might help. It was a bad ass race too!

ive seen spray blow blue as well as menthanol...just really depends on the solid mixture of each, ive more times though seen methanol blow white

What year gt? He should have romped on that WS6 if he was spraying that 150. N20 and Menthanol burn blue. Did he blow out black smoke before the boom?

No black smoke that I could tell. It was just a WAHH!!! shift WAH BOOM! blue flames. I figured with all that done the gt should have won, but who knows. It was like an 01, with what was done it should have been quicker than what I was seeing. Supposedly the gt put down 450 whp, and the ws6 raced a cobra with about the same whp later that night and lost by about 1 1/2 cars. I did not see that race though, so Im just going on hear say. The ws6 put down about 350 something whp with i/h/e and tune. I dont know much about these freakin' v8's.
