failed emissions twice today...
so i tried to get my emissions done today cuz im 3 weeks overdue on tags... and i failed the hydrocarbons test both times... first time it was something like 1100, 800 ppm idle/high rpm... then after the first test, i plugged in my stock o2 sensor, enabled it in crome, and went back... second test i got 467/436 ppm idle/high rpm........ passing is supposed to be less than 220/220, and they did not do the test on the rollers... anyone know why it might have failed? my wideband shows ~15+- when below 7" vac, and i ran it with the cat... the test is all done at very low vac levels, (no boost) so the turbo shouldnt have had anything to do with it... but i do think i have leaky seals on the turbo... would this have anything to do with the results? input please!

no, i was running with a cat... and it was running off the o2 sensor... my wideband told me i was running about 14.9:1 afr's.... there has to be another reason besides the amount of fuel going into the engine... im going to try to get it done with stock spark plugs, and im going to advance the dizzy a lil bit... this should give fuel a lil extra time to burn

i finally passed!!!!!!!! i advanced the dizzy all the way and put the stock spark plugs back in, and they put it on the rollers this time... i dunno which difference made me pass but i did!!! now i get to go get tags and be "legal"... no more getting pulled over for expired tags
