I hear people talk about this kind of stuff all the time. I have 20+ employees report to me. Some may think i am an asshole and some get along with me. I as a boss, have a job to do, just like the regular employee. If i do not get done what i need to do, meet food and labor costs, keep labor cost at a certain percentage of sales, reach certain sales at each hour, etc.. then i get bitched at. So as a boss, it is our job to make sure that things get done and get done on time, and at the same time putting the customer first. Alot of employee's are lazy, they want to get paid for not doing anything. Those are the employee's i ride. When a boss becomes "cool" and very likable by all of the employee's the establishment will see a decrease in service, i have watched it happen and those in charge were terminated. I am not saying that you have to be in constant battle with your boss, what i am getting at is to understand that he/she has certain expectations for his/her boss and has 10x more responisibilty than the other employees.

My bosses are mostly nice. But like mook said, when the shit storm needs to start it does. I dont hate my bosses for this, they are just doing their job.
