Rant...fuckign server hosts

Samuel P.: During this time, the owners of our data center building will be performing electrical maintenance that requires a temporary building shutdown.
Samuel P.: This temporary outage will affect customer web sites and site-related services for all hosting products.

Samuel P.: In advance, we apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you.
Samuel P.: Thank you for your patience.
Jon: Was there any notification sent out prior?
Samuel P.: Yes.
Samuel P.: It was in your control apnel. [Note: Control Panel resides on my server, which is inaccessible...]

Jon: That's the dumbest idea ever.
Jon: How am I supposed to know to look there? And then once my server is down I can't look to see it.
Samuel P.: I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Jon: What's the scheduled downtime window?
Samuel P.: It is approximately from 10pm PST on 2/24 to 4am PST on 2/25.


I should be able to get an extra month out of them since this "maintenance window" exceedes their 99.9% uptime policy.

Scheduled down time does not count agains up time, otherwise our datacenter would have been fucked a long time ago. But its crap like that that makes me not want to use IPower or any of its other companies like starlogic

Scheduled downtime is fine, as long as we're notified. Which I wasn't.
