alright. so earlier i was tellin u all about how i was probably getting a 97 talon tsi awd for 2k, but it would need some stuff done to it. well, i was thinking about it and for the budget, i dont know if i really have the money considering ive never looked at the car and dont know if theres anything else needed to be done besides wiring the coil pack, fuel injectors, and possibly the cam angle sensor, mounting racing seats, and mounting boost, a-f, and volts guages, all of which was quoted to cost a little under $500.

so i am looking at a couple other cars now, like:

1988 supra non-turbo - $1200. needs the heater core put back in, high pressure power steering line, and valve stem seals replaced.

and

1991 240sx - $1100. needs master clutch assembly, clutch, anf flywheel turned, which was quoted by him at $850-$1000.

ive been given a budget of about $2000-$2300 roughly, the lower the better. what do u think i should do? and would any of you be able and/or willing to help me out with some of the stuff on any of the cars or be able to give me some advice or what not?

+1 decide what your wanting to do it an then find a car. But out of those two I pick the 240 bc I have always wanted one. But why not get a honda lol? JK but gl man on finding a ride.

i already have a honda, and i was wanting an awd or at least rwd, just to switch it up, lol. right now i just want a fast somewhat dd, i guess that would be closest to autox? idk. im probably not gonna do much to the car until i start to get a solid income, but idk. i really want that talon but dont think it is worth it with the money i would have to put into it, so im kinda leaning towards the supra cuz i would have about $300 extra to put into it after i got it running good, and they have always been one of my fav cars, but then the 240 is kinda tied, lol, so idk. im thinkin im gonna go test drive em both, or at least look at em, and whichever one i like the most buy i guess, idk. i just wanna see what u guys would do, just to get a different prespective or somethin like that

the thing about the supra tho is that it has 80xxx on the newer motor and idk how much the 240 or talon has. guy hasnt gotten back to me on the 240 and talon guy claims he bought the car as a rolling chasis and built the engine and what not piece by piece, so ya

ahhh so its most likely the most depednable out of the 3 then. maybe you should consider buying it then a while down the road doing a 1JZ swap or something when you have the money :dunno:

Well I had a dsm and i wasnt cheap. But if your sure its rebuilt and done right and isnt be a typical dsm then go for it. But I would do the 240 bc im sure if you ever wanna sell it you could. It would get some good money bc of everyone wants one. But hust get the car you like the best. AWD is alot of fun btw but rwd is more fun and pratical in my eyes but thats me.

ya, i want the dsm the most but it is 2k + however much it costs to fix it up and get it running right, which has been quoted at around $350-$500 + licensing and registration. im really supposed to be buying a car for mom, but ill let her drive mine, its fine, lol, ill take 2 cars. shes only given me about a $2300 spending limit, and i could wait till next payday to get it registered and what not, but then i have the possibility that the guy didnt do everything right and i have to get something else fixed. and i cant go look at the car right now cuz i dont have a car until 5:30 and the guy works and idk, just doesnt work out. if i bought that he would be bringing the car up to me and i would be buying on the spot. idk, from what my friends are saying i shouldnt get it, but idk, i guess it mostly depends on if i can get ppl i know to do/help with getting it running instead of havin to take it to a shop
