I just got off the phone with the Dr. and Reme is out of his surgery and everthing went great. He is still sleeping so I can't pick him up for a while, but he will be home tonight. He has a plate and six screws in his leg and a two month recovery period.

This is the plate that is in his leg...

and this is how it looks on bone, only the Dr. told me that he used a larger plate on Reme because of his muscular structure so when they do the x rays all you see is plate and hardly any bone. They used a plate that typically is used for 80-100 lb dogs so it will hold up to his athletic abilities.

For those of you that don't know... if you wear gloves around the dogs it means they get to play rough...
