1986 was the last year for the famed turbo Regal known as the T Type, it was instead replaced by a "T" package option. this package was just a suspension package that included a leather wrapped steering wheel, 15" alluminum wheels, sway bars and upgraded springs. If you got this option you had a choice between the 305 V8 or the 231 Turbo V6. Since the V8 was very rare most people think the "T" stood short for T Type, which it didn't
The rarest of these "T" cars was the RPO coded WE4, which was basically a Grand National clone with out all the bling. It had the same blacked out features and Turbo engine, but lacked the GN badging, chrome wheels and spoiler. The interior was also solid gray as opposed to the GN's two tone interior scheme.
Realistically the WE4 is worth more since over 20,000 GNs were made in 87, while about 1,500 "T" cars were made in the same year.
The WE4 was also slightly faster due to alluminum bumper brackets and the lighter weight alluminum wheels ( as opposed to the GN's chrome covered steel wheels). All of this came for a cheaper price than the Grand National
