Is everything cool between you two now? The entire thing was based around poor communication. If you have anything further to say, confront one eachother DIRECTLY and don't talk smack about eachother to everyone else. I'll leave the thread open for now. Now lets go have a brew.

It's nice to read Chris's side of this story, now I have heard from both of you and... I'm not picking a side. Sure, we could go item by item and decide who got the better deal, but what's the point? And I don't think people should be forced to pick sides in this, I know I'm not.

The timing equipment you should have changed with the swap anyway. It had been sitting for 2 years, you knew that. 2 years of non motion a belt will get brittle and grease will get hard. It happens, most people that work on cars do know this. Same goes with the dizzy and the t-stat, anything that has been sitting this long needs basic maintance. Like I said before, you know how long it had been sitting.

Your complaining about out of pocket costs but its all normal costs for an engine that had been sitting that long.

When you gave him the parts to take when he was leaving where ever he picked them up from, I am sure he didn't think he was getting them just to store for you. Usually when someone gives you something to use they don't suddenly ask for them back because they sold it. If you were planning on selling or using something then you should have not let him leave with the parts.

You told him you needed another DD and you knew that you didn't have one, all you had to do was say that you could not at the time because the 240 was not running. If he bitches then, so what it was the deal.

As of what I have read and been a part of it seems like you are both just bing bitchy. You made a deal and verbally agreed what this deal was. Jake gave you the motor which you inspected and agreed to the deal. You offered additional free parts then took them back. Right now the only person in the wrong I see here is you.

What needs to be done now is you 2 need to take this shit off the forum and call each other and work this shit out. There is no need for the drama here. I vote that this thread be locked and/or deleted

I vote NO!!! Why have a forum if you are going to delete the info off of it. I could see if someone said that they were going to kill someone. Then you should lock the thread but this thread shouldn't there is good info on here. Just read the great info you get from this thread. So if you trade anything you will know what to do and what not to do.

i agree, i just know what i was working with when i saw the b16, and yea its sat for a while so normal maintenence is normal, i think after it gets ran through for a few months itl turn out to be a good running motor, i know the zc was,

I completely agree with this comment. It sucks that things have gotten to a point where it has to be like this, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Delete it because it is making a good member out to be a bad person. Jake did not do anything wrong. He did not mislead N2HIFI at all yet Jake gets attacked for being a bad person. I dont see how personal attacks can be a learning experience for trading.

to clarify, he is being called out on talking shit behind Chris's back and not talking to Chris personally about how he felt like he got screwed. THEN Chris posted his side of the story to clear HIS name with anyone who may have only heard Jake's side. I think everyone is frustrated with this whole deal, it seems one of those things that probably should never have happened as it has damaged friendships and reputations... but hindsight is 20/20, right?

Not taking sides either and am completely out of it. I met both involved and like both people the same, both have alot of info on honda's and other swaps. I say shake hands and call it good I mean set aside the problems cause honestly aside from it all you both like your cars even more then you did before.

Bad communication is a factor in this but both partys had alot on there minds with there swaps.

Seriously...Look, it was a case of poor communication. Everyone should put this behind them and remember from it that it is best to document a transaction of this caliber so that all things can be made clear by both parties as to what is part of the transaction and what is only being lent for a duration of time (which also should be a finite value). I'm locking the thread, will wait to hear from Rick about deleting (Idea I have proposed to him...)
