serious debate: why stl lacks honda scene

Our site has the possibility of changing the views of whats cool to people, out with the wings and in with engine swaps :dunno:

I think there is no scene in STL for the same reason as most, lack of knowledge by the honda owners.

But at the same time you get a lot of people that think they know whats right, but im sure some will eventually come to a conclusion that wings and neons arent cool, and dont make you fast.

Theres just so many younger people that don't know a damn thing about making a car fast, and when they get that Autozone intake on they think its a 12 second honda, and no matter what you tell them, they still think it's a 12 second car.

But at the same time there are some younger people that actually know things, and I think thats the type of crowd we should focus more on.

to some people neons and wings are cool, not to me , but to some people.. and obviously they won't make your car faster and its our job as being the knowledgable ones to show them that it doesn't. these young grasshoppers need to be taught that there cars are not as wicked fast as they think they are. this will cut down on the number of "ricers" running around and give honda enthusiasts a better image.

I don't think we should focus on the people that already know what they are talking about. they already know how to do research (as indicated by how much they already know) so we should focus more on these "ricers" and help them with finding resources so they can learn more.

And from personal experence "helping" them wether it be a "ricer" or someone asking how to junkyard turbo their d15 does not include being an a** when someone asks what we consider an "easy" or noob question. I know in the years on the forums when someone, asks the simplest of questions instead of just answering their question people act as though they were never a noob and tells them to go search and find it, all this does is encourage them to do the same if they're ever in the same situation. I've always tried to answer people's questions if I could, or at least point them in the right direction.

I guess I'm just saying don't be a d*ck...

:goodpost: i agree, bein rude and mean to people who dont know better isnt the way to spread wisdom, lots of people who come on here dont use anything else on the net, i feel they should feel safe bein able to come onto a local honda site and ask questions to people who have been in similar situations, not be sent to google or yahoo to go find it for themselves, personally i like hearing it from someone instead of reading about it,
