What does a stock 14b boost?

Not really sure if this was the place ot put it but whats the stock psi rating on a 14b TD05H turbo? Does it start at say 7psi but can be turned up by a boost controller to say 17psi?

Reason asking I'm finishing the mock up this weekend on my car and if it boost's more then 10psi then there may be a chance the motor will go. So anyone that can tell me what they boost stock would be helpful.

Also I've did a search and all the sites say 6 to 7psi

what kind of waste gate are you using?

6 psi would be a safe place to start

on my 1g talon, i ran about 22psi out of it, i found out later that about 19psi is the max for it unless theres portwork done

it's a stock 14b off a 90 AWD and it's had the flange where it bolts to the manifold ported...So I'm guessing stock boost should be anywhere between 6 and 10psi. It's internally wastegated so no external here just completely stock.

won't that small turbo loose efficiency well before 17psi? :dunno:

On a stock sidemount, your going to be blowing hot air at even 17, 19 is just dumb.

19-20 is borderline on a 16g.

honestly if stolle can run spike of 11psi on a stock D15b7 then I can run 10psi on a stock D16a6, seriously I've seen D-series with smal turbos like 14b and t25's running 10 to 12psi and no problems. The problem I'm haveing is I'm seeing a curve that they boost 7psi at 5500 rpms but at 7200 rpms they hit 12.5 psi, now if they gradually keep boosting instead of holding 7 all the way to redline I shall be pissed lol. Even mr2 turbos hold out 7psi stock all the way through the gears unless you turn them up yourself.
