Well well,
Is a R12 to R134 conversion easy? Can anybody in the club do one? I am purchasing a car that the AC is dead in.

it's simple. Essentially you just need to drain the system, put the new fittings on, put in the r134 conversion oil, and then fill it with r134.

bingo, the most expensive part is the fittings, and also getting it recharged. i forget what the preice per lb is right now, but its up there.JVolsch;58252 wrote:it's simple. sweet! Im buying a car that still has the R12 system intact, but needs to be retrofited to R134. The system is probably completely empty of freon so it is not toxic.
The car will remain a secret till i get back on wednesday:rock:

If you need the fittings I have them. I don't have a use for them. They're brand new too.
