I got the upper "dog bone" out and I'm going to put it in a table vise and heat it up then take my anger out on it. Thanks again guys for the help and tips. Also it was rather easy to get it out I did basic what Stolle was talking about before he posted that. Thanks I'll keep you updated.stolle;45644 wrote:i know the exact bolt he broke off believe me i have delt with it many times and its not that big a deal to fix and its not safe to drive even if he isnt going to be racing around. i guess it would be the upper control arm then sorry i didnt specify either way the same concept the nut is spot welded to the trailing arm not "molded" its easy to cut off or grind off or even knock off with an air chisel i have done it many times. with the head of the the bolt missing the stamped steel of the trailing arm will spread the one side of the bushing with the nut will bend back and forth till it breaks off its common sense. i could have that thing fixed on the car in less than an hour shit less than 30 minutes if i had an upper control arm its simple bullshit that i have been dealing with ever since the first time i touched honda. and you want him to replace the whole trailing arm? thats ridiculous...
does anyone have an extra bolt laying around???

it's all good i understand and i forgot that the where he broke the bolt off is named the upper control arm, i just refer always to it as where the camber kit goes, lawl. For a person who's good with tools and working on cars then doing something like this would not be a huge deal but for somebody who is still way in the learning curve doing something like cutting and grinding on a major part of the car is not something i would suggest. thus why i suggested he just replace the whole assembly.stolle;45644 wrote:i know the exact bolt he broke off believe me i have delt with it many times and its not that big a deal to fix and its not safe to drive even if he isnt going to be racing around. i guess it would be the upper control arm then sorry i didnt specify either way the same concept the nut is spot welded to the trailing arm not "molded" its easy to cut off or grind off or even knock off with an air chisel i have done it many times. with the head of the the bolt missing the stamped steel of the trailing arm will spread the one side of the bushing with the nut will bend back and forth till it breaks off its common sense. i could have that thing fixed on the car in less than an hour shit less than 30 minutes if i had an upper control arm its simple bullshit that i have been dealing with ever since the first time i touched honda. and you want him to replace the whole trailing arm? thats ridiculous...

you were supposed to punch the bolt out of the bushing, but all is not lost. it would prolly be easier and cheaper to find a whole other arm from someone on the board or at the junkyard...HondaChild;45749 wrote:THE BUSHING IS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

plus the metal sleeve the bushing sits in is still in the arm, so know you need to take a sawzall and cut the thin metal sleev and slide that out too before you can install a new bushing.

Yes I do realize that I just FUBAR'd my upper control arm so now I'm just going to have to buy a new one, or a camber kit.stolle;45754 wrote:you were supposed to punch the bolt out of the bushing, but all is not lost. it would prolly be easier and cheaper to find a whole other arm from someone on the board or at the junkyard...
