Anybody do their own alignments (not a rack at your workplace, etc.)?
I've been looking at redoing mine. Have a decent idea of how to go about it....but I'm sure I'm overlooking things.
Anyone have any experience/tips? I'm mostly looking to adjust toe (no camber bolts, joints, etc.).
DIY alignments anyone?

i tried mine, i def couldnt do that camber my self. I got my steering straight and toe good though. Its not worth doing yourself believe me. you will never get everything as straight as the dealer. I think there may be an article in the "articles" section of team-integra.net if your interested in finding a how to. I think there way involves drawring lines, or using big rulers. not certain.

he speaks the troof. the only time i aligned any of my vehicles was just to get them to a shop to get an actual alignment done. its better to just have it done at a shop/dealer in all honesty.IshbOO;246479 wrote:i tried mine, i def couldnt do that camber my self. Fuck a stealership. Id never take my shit there unless it was under warranty. Find a good shop that can align it. If you are just wanting to adjust the toe you should be able to do that with a couple at home tools. You need a 2x4, nail, level, and tape measure. Measure and cut the 2x4 to where it sits inside the wheel lip. hit the nail into the board at an angle for a scribe. Place the 2x4 in between the wheel lips and use the level to check the camber. If its level then your at 0 camber. For toe you can jack the car up put the 2x4 down with the nail barely scratching the tire.(Make sure someone is holding it in one spot) spin the tire until it scribes a mark all the way around the tire. Then measure the distance from the outside of the tire to the mark on the front and back. After that it is just loosening or tightening the tie rod to get it within specs.tkarner03;247336 wrote:he speaks the troof. the only time i aligned any of my vehicles was just to get them to a shop to get an actual alignment done. its better to just have it done at a shop/dealer in all honesty.

I use string on jack stands to set the toe close enough until I can get to a shop.

I've been doing my own alignments on my mustang for years.
There are several different techniques (some more accurate than others), this thread touches on most of them
