Acura Front rotor upgrades/replacements!!

Post by Teg-Potential »

OK so of course i go up for a safety/emissions inspection and i get a call about something being wrong. I am told i need new Front brake rotors. Now i came home and did a few calls to find out that some stock oem replacements are fairly cheap and i could get them from any auto parts store for about 50-70 bucks and after watching a few videos and researching i am confident i can do the work myself. but i write this thread asking for your help, because i would like to upgrade to slotted and/or drilled rotors. Below are the options ive checked out. Please give me your input on the brands, performance, supplier, fitment... anything reall. im leaning towards Option one because mainly its not from ebay (cuz im weary of ebay ) . So PLEASE give your input . i gotta get this done soon for my new plates.

Option1: ($104 shipped!!) http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/A ... 6+Steering

Option2: ($67 shipped!!) http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/A ... 6+Steering

Option3: ( $115 shipped!!))

Brembo blanks are also a good option.

Remember ebay is a store not a brand. Their are good products on there.

EDIT: I have one of the cheap no name cross drilled and slotted rotors from an eBay store(i think it was stoptech or something like that), and they held up for 3 years before warping.

Drilled and slotted rotors are a waste of your money on a daily driven car. Go with the auto parts store rotors and pads and get your car legal.

Friend of mine had some on his TL, said they sucked balls, and went bad after like 3months, of course I think his driving style could of resulted that a well. Not saying it would be the same for an Integra, cause I have thought of getting the blanks for my car as I will need some soon. But seem good for the price.

Not really sure how a car fails safety inspection for front rotors. Pads for sure but I have never seen a car fail for rotors. Poss if it was cracked I guess?

i believe they can fail a car if the depth of the rotors are too thin.

oh and i ran ebay drilled/slotted rotors on my crx for four years daily and had no problems.

I like DBA and Powerslot for rotors, Hawk pads too. If I was looking for least expensive I'd just get what the parts houses have.
