05 Civic Si Dilemma

Post by olordahonda »

Ok so as we tried to change springs the hub assembly got tilted back and stuck. We couldn't get it back parallel. My buddy believes its the spline or the bottom ball joint. This is where it gets tricky.

We rented some tools to pop the lower ball joint didn't go to well

The two bolts that hold the rotor are stripped

Cant punch out the axle

My question is:

How F@#% are we?
is there any other ways of fixing such a problem.

You need to host pictures somewhere like Photobucket and then post the [IMG] link.

It sounds like the part of the axle that is inside the boot of the inner CV joint got pulled out and needs to be pushed back in. A common issue on MacPherson strut cars when replacing sturts and/or springs.

Yep, if you were putting in suspension then that's what you need to do. Happened on my 02 when I put my coilovers in.

i also would be willing to bet that its one of your CV joints that is binding and keeping it there.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

I don't know if this will help, but this is how you fix it on a Fit. Check the third response and good luck.
